pretty please

“So what kind of cupcakes do you want to take to school this week, sweetie?”

“Huh? What do you mean? Why would we do that?!?”

“You know, for your birthday. Wouldn’t it be nice? We could make them together.”

“Nah…..don’t wanna.”
But…but….Mama wants to make pretty cupcakes! She likes to! She does! She does!

Wells– maybe if you didn’t make tofu-carrott-spinach-wheat germ cupcakes…she’d let you bake for her:)

Go ahead, make up a batch, you can send them to 530 Fairway Drive…

If they’re anything like the broccoli soup, I don’t blame her…..

actually…believe it or not…these were going to be funfetti, from the box….since i’m making homemade ones for the home celebration. in pretty frosting colors.

ko: i’ve vastly improved my cooking skills since our aquaintance. through art! my color theory made the remark that painting is like cooking, and somehow, that became a revelation for me. and changing my broccoli soup recipe helped.

I figured the issue was more along the lines of “Why should THEY get cupcakes on MY birthday? any treats or presents on that day should be from others to ME, not the other way around” kinda thing.

This is why nobody is ever invited to my birthday parties. other people would just spoil it.

that is pretty much closer to the truth. my kid does not like to share. i offered to make cookies for the 100th day celebration today at her school. she was very much interested in cookies, but not bringing them in. sheesh.
